As consulting firms gear up for another wave of M&A, Consulting’s One on One sat down with Eric Perander, a partner inside the strategy-consulting firm Waterstone Management Group, to better understand the lessons he learned from one of the largest, and most successful, acquisitions in the profession’s history.

- »One on One with Ed Hess
Grow or Die. It’s probably the most common business axiom, and the least accurate, according to the new book “Smart Growth: Building an Enduring Business by Managing the Risks of Growth” (Columbia Business School Publishing). To better understand the book’s implications for firms, Consulting’s One-on-One sat down with the book’s author, Ed Hess, a former Arthur Andersen strategy consultant and current professor at the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business.
- »One on One with Summit's David Litherland

»The Top 25 Consultants of 2008: An Overview
Once again, it’s time for Consulting magazine’s annual celebration of the year’s Top 25 Consultants. With more nominations representing more firms than ever before, this year’s list truly represents the best the profession has to offer. The 23 firms on this year’s list are the most ever, and like the industry itself, there’s no easy way to define the Top 25. They come from the biggest and the smallest firms, and represent a multitude of backgrounds, disciplines, practice areas and specialties. They are CEOs, COOs, principals, partners and, in a sure sign of the times, our first ever global coordinator for sustainability. The list also includes the recently named CEO of a brand new consulting firm with revenue topping $1 billion.
